Ann Jones - Director Ann became founded ArtProjects and Solutions in 2000, incorporating it in 2003. She has over 20 years experience of the visual arts sector and an extensive network of national and international contacts. Working with key associates ArtProjects and Solutions has established a growing reputation as a key arts development agency in the UK. All Associates are highly experienced in their specialist areas and possess excellent project management and communication skills.
Ann’s specific area of expertise lies in the Visual and Applied Arts and her perspective on the sector is independent and both national and international. Through her work with curators, arts managers and artists across the UK and overseas she as developed a reputation for nurturing networks and collaborative working practice. She has designed, researched and delivered professional development programmes for Arts Council England offices across the UK and joint ACE/British Council management training programmes. She has also designed and delivered international exchange programmes aimed at developing the creative practice of artists. As well leading on professional development work Ann works with clients to improve clarity of purpose, management and the financial sustainability of cultural organisations. Ann has trained as an Action Learning Facilitator (Action Learning Associates) and in Co-Active Coaching (The Coaching Institute) and works with groups and individuals.
Prior to becoming freelance Ann worked at a number of internationally respected London based galleries, most recently the Barbican Centre where she was Head of Visual Arts until 1999. She is a Fellow of the RSA and works voluntarily on a number of projects. Email:
Rachel Parslew - Associate Rachel is an independent producer and arts consultant. She has worked in the cultural sector for 20 years acquiring a broad range of arts management and production experience in theatre and dance. Much of her current consultancy work focuses on strategic planning, organisational development and fundraising. Rachel’s international focus is China and has delivered three professional development programmes for Chinese arts managers on behalf of Visiting Arts and initiated her own exchange projects for British and Chinese artists. She is currently Creative Producer for 100 Words, a cross-cultural writing and language-learning project for young people in China and the UK. Rachel joined ArtProjects and Solutions in 2006. She is Chair of Hoipolloi Theatre Company and a member of the Regional Council of the Arts Council England, East. Rachel is based in Cambridge.
Camilla Cañellas - Associate Camilla Canellas is an arts consultant with over fifteen years experience working in the cultural relations and arts funding sector. Camilla’s knowledge of the international arts sector comes of twelve years spent with the British Council where she initiated a number of pioneering cultural projects working with artists, curators and diplomats. Her international experience extends to working with corporations, private foundations, public bodies, foreign governments and ministries, MPs and diplomats. Camilla’s background is art history and her specialism is Islamic art and architecture. Over the last decade she built an excellent knowledge of contemporary art practice across the Middle East and Islamic world and is regularly invited to speak, write and lecture on this subject. Camilla joined APS in 2005 and leads on ‘The Jameel Prize’ – a major new art prize run by the Victoria & Albert Museum which APS have recently been appointed to manage. Camilla is an elected member of AICA (Association of International Art Critics) and a Fellow of the RSA. Camilla is based in Barcelona.
Jenny Mayor - Associate Jenny Mayor has worked in adult and community education since the 1980s, and at further education colleges in the South West, where she is based. Her last post was as a Deputy Principal at Strode College. While there, some of her strategic challenges were: winning a contract to deliver education in 9 prisons, overseeing the management of a working theatre, cinema and arts centre and several major building projects. Since 2001, Jenny has been a freelance trainer and consultant, working particularly with leaders of public services throughout England, and East and Southern Africa. She has designed, delivered and developed a number of national programmes for the cultural sector, as well as providing in-house consultancy for management teams. She particularly encourages the development of creative thinking to help with solving problems and has run Learning Sets as part of the Cultural Leadership Programme.
Julia Bunnage – Administrator Julia began working in the visual arts in 1990 and has recently returned to work part-time after taking a short break to care for her young family. Previously she worked as an Exhibition Organiser at the Barbican Centre, planning and organising as part of a large team in a demanding environment. Whilst at the Barbican she devised a series of new commissions for young artists, placing contemporary art in the public foyers. As well as working inside the gallery, she also has experience of working on large-scale exhibitions sited in the public realm. Her practical experience is supported by MA (RCA) in Visual Arts Administration completed in 1994. She is based in London.
Errol Francis- Associate Errol is an artist and mental health campaigner who lives in London. Through different periods of his life he has trained in architecture, social policy, photography and Fine Art. He gained his MA in Fine Art from Central St Martins College of Art and Design in 2004. Erroll's artistic practice references contemporary racism, the history of the slave trade and colonial plant collecting. He has exhibited widely across the UK. Errol’s professional practice in mental health has ranged from being a mental health writer, consultant and campaigner, to running mental health charities.
Hilary Jennings – Associate Hilary Jennings is a freelance consultant in the creative & cultural and education & skills sectors. After ten years working at UK Skills - an independent organisation which champions vocational skills and workplace learning through competitions, awards and events, she became a Member of the Development Board and subsequently an Industry Skills Director at Creative & Cultural Skills – the Sector Skills Council for the creative industries – focusing on the development of strategic partnerships in the areas of Craft and Leadership. Now freelance, her clients include the Crafts Council for whom she produced content for a new broad based advocacy publication for the craft sector and the Prince of Wales’s Charities on their potential engagement with heritage craft. She has worked for the Cultural Leadership Programme on a number of projects particularly in the area of networked leadership development, facilitation and the Meeting the Challenge fund. She has significant experience of working internationally gained at the International Bar Association, with WorldSkills International and more recently with the International Entrepreneur Placement Scheme at the South Bank Centre
Fiona Godfrey – Associate Fiona is an independent consultant working across the cultural and education sectors. Much of her work focuses on evaluation and the ongoing challenge of how best to assess the impact of the arts. She spent many years as a teacher working with ages 3-13, gained an MA in Art Education from the University of Central England Birmingham and then moved into working in gallery education and on artists-in-school programmes. Having led the development of an education programme and team at the new Centre for Visual Arts in Cardiff, she has over the past nine years worked freelance with many different arts organisations, local authorities, Creative Partnerships programmes and for Arts Council, England. She is an associate consultant to the QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority), representing the arts on the independent review of the primary curriculum and in the context of curriculum innovation. She is an accredited coach (Cultural Leadership Programme) and a trained Action Learning Set facilitator (Action Learning Associates).
